Banana Chia Smoothie

Introduction

A banana smoothie with chia is the fastest way to turn a handful of seeds into a proper meal in a glass. Chia has a mild, nutty taste that disappears completely once blended, while the soaked seeds add body so the smoothie feels thick and filling rather than watery. Banana brings natural sweetness and creaminess, which means you often need no added sugar at all. Among easy chia seeds recipes, this one is a favourite for breakfast on the run, a post-workout refuel, or an evening snack for hungry kids. With the right add-ins it becomes a genuinely high protein chia seeds drink that keeps you going for hours.

Ingredients

  • 1 tbsp chia seeds
  • 2 tbsp water, for soaking
  • 1 ripe banana
  • 1 cup milk (dairy or plant milk)
  • 2 tbsp curd, optional, for creaminess
  • 1 tbsp peanut butter or 6-7 soaked almonds
  • 1/4 tsp cinnamon powder
  • 2-3 ice cubes, optional

How to make it

Step 1

Soak the chia seeds in 2 tbsp water for about 20 minutes until they form a soft gel.

Step 2

Add the banana, milk, curd, peanut butter or almonds and cinnamon to the blender.

Step 3

Add the soaked chia gel and the ice cubes if using.

Step 4

Blend until smooth and creamy, about 30-40 seconds.

Step 5

Pour into a glass and drink fresh for the best texture.

Tips

  • Soak the chia first so it blends smoothly instead of leaving hard specks.
  • Freeze banana slices in advance for a naturally cold, thick smoothie.
  • Drink it soon after blending, as chia continues to thicken on standing.
